Joel Randall swoons over Celtic transfer as Exeter star admits Parkhead move is 'dream stuff'

Exeter City star Joel Randall has described a move to Celtic as "dream stuff" amid reported interest from Parkhead.

It has been claimed that Nick Hammond and Neil Lennon have been running the rule over Randall in the hope of signing the highly-rated winger.

The 21-year-old has impressed in his breakthrough season for Exeter netting eight times in League Two so far and is thought to be interesting a number of sides south of the border.

However, Randall insists he was only focused on his football, with Charlton reportedly having bids knocked back last month.

He told BBC Sport: "I didn't take much notice of it, the agent kept me in touch with a few things and I was aware there was some interest.

"But at the end of the day I was fully committed to Exeter.

"I said to them I want to be successful this season and I was just keeping my head down, working hard to play every Saturday and Tuesday for them, so it didn't really bother me too much."

"Of course, seeing the Celtic shout was dream stuff really, to see that interest.

"But I've got a job to do with Exeter so I can't let it distract me."

Randall had only played seven professional games before the start of this campaign, spending time out on loan at the likes of seventh tier Taunton Town and Tiverton Town, but was handed a first-team chance in the midst of the Covid crisis.

The Hoops have been short on wingers this season with the crocked James Forrest missing out for most of the Premiership campaign, while Mikey Johnson has only returned to fitness recently.
