Joe Westerman’s wife glad she saw sex act clip as thought of kissing him makes her “sick”

The wife of shamed rugby league player Joe Westerman is 'glad' her spouse's cheating was caught on camera, because 'the thought of kissing him makes her feel sick'.

Mother-of-three Lauren has vowed her marriage to childhood sweetheart Westerman "is over for good" after the Castleford Tiger was filmed performing a sex act on an unnamed blonde in a street alley. But she was glad to have witnessed footage of the incident before it became a headline as the two-cap England international grovelled for forgiveness.

“I just felt physically sick," betrayed Lauren told The Sun. "My next thought was for my 14-year-old daughter and whether I could get to her before she saw it.

“But it was too late. She kept being added to these Snapchat groups from school and being sent the video. She left the groups but kept being added to more and it was sent to her again and again and again."

The scorned Westerman explained how her Super League spouse had engaged in a 15-hour day of drinking in Pontefract in York on Saturday, which also happened to be Valentine's Day. Primary school teacher Lauren received a text from 33-year-old Joe at 2.30 a.m. on Sunday morning to say he couldn't get into the family home as he didn't have his keys, but it wasn't until later that day the news of what had happened truly emerged.

“Our nine-year-old was also sent a screenshot of the video in messages," Lauren continued. "That’s their dad and I feel so sorry for them that they’ve had to see something like that.

“Truth is, he only told me because it was on social media. But I’m glad it was found because the thought of kissing him after that just makes me feel sick."

Lauren also told The Sun the anonymous woman recorded in the clip has been fired from her job as an estate agent. "Her children are going to see that," she sympathised. "I don’t know if our children will ever forgive their dad."

Joe and Lauren were wed in 2014, with the latter remarking they 'always managed to find their way back together' despite obstacles in the past. Castleford have handed Westerman a 'substantial fine' as punishment for the controversy, as well as ordering their player to serve community service educating youths on the effects of alcohol.

“You always said alcohol would f*** me up,” he told his wife as part of a string of texts apologising after the clip was shared via social media. “I need you to know I can’t remember anything about that night. I look like a zombie.”

Westerman has been stood down by the Tigers ahead of Sunday's Super League curtain-raiser away toformer employers Hull FC. In a statement issued via the club's website, Joe said: “I have realised that I need to work on my decision-making around alcohol."
