Joe Hart has no intention of seeking a transfer from Manchester City if Pep Guardiola buys Marc-André ter Stegen in the summer as he is determined to fight for his place next season.
Guardiola wants to make Ter Stegen one of his first signings from Barcelona, with the 23-year-old German likely to cost in the region of £20m.
But Hart is unconcerned at the prospect of Ter Stegen joining and believes he can establish himself as the No1 under Guardiola, who replaces Manuel Pellegrini on 1 July when the Spaniard leaves Bayern Munich to become head coach.
Ter Stegen is not first choice in La Liga games at Barça but plays in cup competitions and won the Champions League and Copa del Rey last year, his first at the Camp Nou after a move from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2014.
Ter Stegen is unhappy that Luis Enrique prefers Claudio Bravo for league games as he wants to be the No1 in all competitions. That means it is unlikely he would be content to continue on a similar basis under Guardiola should the Spaniard decide to split responsibilities between Hart and him.
While it is unclear if Guardiola will decide on a two-goalkeeper system of rotation, Willy Caballero, whose penalty shootout heroics won City the Capital One Cup final against Liverpool in February, is almost certain to depart if Ter Stegen arrives.
