Richie McLernon got the riding plaudits with a gravity-defying effort at Fontwell Park – even though his mount No Worries came in sixth.
The Neil Mulholland-trained seven-year-old was staying on into fourth as the field ran to the second-last flight of the whichbookie.co.uk Best For Racing Handicap Hurdle.
But No Worries made a mess of the obstacle and McLernon looked bound for the Sussex turf.
But, performing one of the recoveries of the season so far, the Irishman managed to cling on to his mount, gradually heaving himself back into No Worries’ saddle to complete in sixth place behind Thirtyfourstitches.
He even got a helping hand from weighing room colleague Aidan Coleman who reached out to help him back on board.

Sara Juggins tweeted: "Lovely to see jockeys helping each other out."
Jenny Turner tweeted: "Masterclass of sportsmanship and should be the ride of the month!"
The best ride isn’t always the winning one!
