Jimmy Moreland reminds some of Kendall Fuller

Jimmy Moreland is a popular name for the Washington Redskins this offseason.

Typically, seventh-round picks don’t get this sort of attention. But Moreland made a big impact in camp, then turned around and got tapped as the team’s most notable project player.

Now, another small note has added some fuel to the fire, per The Washington Post’s Kareem Copeland:

“Defensive coordinator Greg Manusky said Moreland reminds him of former Redskins cornerback Kendall Fuller ‘a little bit’ and Gruden praised his knowledge of route concepts.”

Kendall Fuller, of course, was Washington’s third-round pick in 2016 and a critical part of the secondary. He ended up getting traded to Kansas City and has continued right along the same trajectory.

The Redskins roster certainly still has room for a breakout like Moreland to come in and fill the Fuller-looking gap on the depth chart.

With size (5’10”, 179 lbs) the main concern that dropped Moreland in the first place, he’s got all summer to let his play do the talking.
