When asked earlier this week whether being in the middle of a playoff race is fun, Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg replied, "No. It's miserable."
It turns out Hoiberg may be trying to paint a different picture with the media than what is reality, if you believe guard Jimmy Butler.
"He doesn't want to tell you all, but he has fun," Butler said with a grin. "He comes in here smiling like everybody else. He's just trying to tell you all the politically correct answers. Fred is having fun, I don't care what he has to say."
The fun will continue when the Bulls face the 76ers on Friday night at the United Center in the latest in a series of must-wins. Sitting in the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference, 1 { games behind the Heat, all the Bulls could do Thursday night was watch when the Heat took on the Raptors.
Hoiberg said the Bulls can't sit back and rely on other teams to help them in their bid for the postseason.
"We just have to worry about ourselves," he said. "We have to come back with a great effort. We have to have a good focused shootaround for Philadelphia. It's a team that has been playing very well lately. We have to be locked in and get off to a good start."
