Jim Goodwin confirms St Mirren top scorer Eamonn Brophy out for up to four weeks with hamstring strain

St Mirren boss Jim Goodwin has revealed star striker Eamonn Brophy will miss the next two weeks at least with a hamstring strain suffered against Aberdeen.

The Scotland international pulled up at Pittodrie and was forced off in the first half, with former Dons forward Curtis Main taking his place.

And Main may get the chance to lead the line against Hibs on Saturday, with Kristian Dennis and Lee Erwin also vying for a chance to shine in Brophy's absence.

When asked about Brophy's injury, Goodwin told Renfrewshire Live Sport: "It's nothing too major. It's a grade one strain of his hamstring.

"That can take anything from two to four weeks. We'll not rush him back, we'll give him all the time he needs.

"We've got a great medical team here looking after him.

"Obviously we'd like to get him back in amongst it as quickly as possible, but at the same time with muscle injuries you need to be careful.

"We don't want to rush him back and then it goes again. We'll make sure he's right before he comes back in.

"Brophy is definitely out for the weekend so we've got Curtis Main, Kristian Dennis and Lee Erwin available. One or two will go and lead the line for us.

"If we play with one, I like to have two strikers on the bench and likewise if we start with two up front. Lee is still in amongst it and is another good option for me to have."
