Jets vs. Falcons: Game info, where to watch, notes

The New York Jets will look to bounce back from their Week 1 preseason loss to the Giants when they go head-to-head against the Atlanta Falcons in their second exhibition game.

When these two teams met last preseason at MetLife Stadium, the Jets shut the Falcons out, 17-0. Sam Darnold arguably had his best preseason game of the summer, as he was 13-18 for 96 yards and a touchdown. However, in this year’s preseason game there probably won’t be a lot of playing time for Darnold.

The Jets are riddled with injuries all across the board, so don’t expect to see much of the starters in Thursday’s showdown. Three members of the starting offensive line are expected to be out, including Kelechi Osemele, Ryan Kalil and Brian Winters. Alex Lewis and Tom Compton will lock down both guard positions, while Jonotthan Harrison will play center. Trumaine Johnson is and likely Kyron Brown will be out.

The cornerbacks are going to be interesting to watch against the Falcons. The Jets desperately need someone to step up at that position and both Arthur Maulet and Tevaughn Campbell have a chance to make a name for themselves. Meanwhile, the Jets’ top two rookies, Quinnen Williams and Jachai Polite, are expected to see a lot of snaps. We’ll also get our first look at the Jets’ new kicker, Taylor Bertolet.
