Jets injury report: Chris Herndon immediately hurts hamstring upon return

The Jets can’t get out of their own way when it comes to injuries.

Adam Gase spoke to the media Wednesday and announced that tight end Chris Herndon is week-to-week with a hamstring injury. He suffered the injury running routes on Friday and is unlikely to play on Sunday against the Cowboys. Herndon is coming off his four-game suspension, but he won’t be making his season debut just yet.

In more bad new, C.J. Mosley is getting closer to full health, but he won’t practice on Wednesday. Gase said that Mosley is “doubtful at best” for Sunday. He has not played since Week 1.

The Jets did get some good news with outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins. He will be a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice, as he’s coming back from a calf injury. Brandon Copeland will likely return on Sunday after serving his four-game suspension.

Henry Anderson (shoulder), Trenton Cannon (hamstring), Kelechi Osemele (shoulder/knee/illness) and Nate Hairston (knee) will all not practice Wednesday.
