Jet2.com and Jet2holidays offer holidaymakers late summer sun deals to Verona

The UK's current inclement weather with snow flurries and plummeting temperatures may be causing some to dream about their next vacation. Don't worry if you can't get away just yet, as Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have extended the summer season to Verona by introducing more flights and holidays in October.

The flights will depart from Birmingham and Manchester Airports, in what the travel companies' say is a response to demand for late summer sun. Jet2holidays has also announced that a bigger selection of hotels at the stunning Lake Garda are now available to book until late October, as holidaymakers flock to the famous location for their holidays.

The leisure airline and tour operator to myriad destinations across the Mediterranean say they are serving customers looking to enjoy late summer sun season holidays in Verona and Lake Garda. They will do this by putting on additional flights to the region, with services now operating until October 28.

This means summer, that the Met Office say officially ends on September 24, is extended by over a month thanks to Jet2.com and Jetholidays' move. As a result of the expansion, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays say they have thousands more seats on sale to the destination, providing more choice and flexibility for customers and independent travel agents when it comes to booking or enjoying a holiday to Verona and Lake Garda this summer.

In addition, it also gives holidaymakers the opportunity to book head and get the price of their October getaway holiday locked in now. The addition of the new flights means Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will operate twice weekly services on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with flights starting in early May.

Late summer sun in Lake Garda

Lake Garda is something of a celebrity hotspot, with A-list celebrities flocking to the stunning holiday location which reportedly include Tom Cruise, David and Victoria Beckham and Drew Barrymore. Lake Garda is a big attraction for anyone who appreciates beautiful places and striking architecture.

Would-be travellers have an expanded choice of hotels in Lake Garda which include Aris Apartments, Villa Nicolli, Hotel Regina Adelaide, Hotel Serenella and Principe di Lazise. This means the company now has over 50 2-5 star hotels in the region.

Lying midway between Milan and Venice, Lake Garda offers an impressive setting for a holiday. A region of contrasts, it combines a majestic lake with rugged alpine vistas, waterfront towns and lush vineyards, making it the perfect destination for some R&R.

At the north end, holidaymakers can make the most of a variety of sporting activities, while further south they can enjoy exploring villages, wine tasting and al fresco dining. Resorts on sale include Bardolino, Malcesine, Sirmione, Limone, Desenzano, Riva, Gardone Riviera, San Felice del Benaco, Peschiera, Nago and Lazise.

Book Valentine's Day romantic getaway to Verona in advance

Famed as the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, Verona is said to be the epitome of the perfect romantic getaway. Holidaymakers can get lost among the piazzas and tangle of medieval backstreets, take a starry-eyed stroll to visit Juliet’s ivy-clad balcony, people-watch at Piazza delle Erbe or indulge in some stylish shopping along Via Mazzini.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are delighted to be extending the summer 23 season to Verona. We are offering more flights and holidays to this popular destination until the end of October from Birmingham and Manchester Airports.

"Last year, we announced the addition of Newcastle International to Verona as a new route for summer 23. Following the positive response to this, we have now extended our presence in the region even further.

"By working with the Italian government, hoteliers and partners, we are able to put on more flights and bring even more holidaymakers to Verona and Lake Garda. This is a region experiencing very strong demand.

"Given the assurance that customers get from our award-winning flights and ATOL protected package holidays, we are very confident that these additional flights will prove extremely popular.”
