Jesy Nelson 'makes more than £3million' from Little Mix - despite quitting band

Former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson earned £3million when she quit the band in December.

She sensationally left the girl group at the end of last year, due to her life in the spotlight taking a toll on her mental health.

The 30-year-old has since launched a solo career and released her first single, Boyz, featuring Nicki Minaj, in recent weeks.

In documents filed by Companies House today, and seen by The Sun, the singer was given £3million when she decided to part ways with Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall.

Jesy raked in £1,901,304 for the company that handles Little Mix's touring money, Eternal Magic Touring.

She also received an additional £1,201,390 from Eternal Dance Media, which handles their music and advertising deals, it's reported.

Jesy's solo career appeared to get off to a rocky start when she dropped her single Boyz at the beginning of last month to a wave of controversy.

She received scathing criticism from fans for 'blackfishing' and appropriating black culture.

Following the backlash, she was seen giggling when collaborator Nicki Minaj called her former bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock a 'clown' on Instagram Live as they discussed the furore.

During the chat, Jesy confessed that her former bandmate warned her about her 'blackfishing' long ago.

She defended herself in a recent interview with Vulture.

Jesy addressed the claims and said: "I’m very aware that I’m a white British woman; I’ve never said that I wasn’t."

"I mean, like, I love Black culture. I love Black music. That’s all I know, it’s what I grew up on."

She added: "I take all those comments made seriously. I would never intentionally do anything to make myself look racially ambiguous, so that’s why I was initially shocked that the term was directed at me."

It appears the girlband were falling apart months before Jesy quit.

A video was unearthed of Perrie and Jade animatedly singing West Side Story's I Feel Pretty on their tour bus and slowly got louder.

Jesy seemingly has enough and yells at them, resulting in Jade being left speechless and Perrie throwing down a balloon and immediately going on her phone.
