Jessie J has told fans she will need further surgery, just days after being rushed to hospital with an infection and fluid in her lungs.
The 37-year-old singer has been recovering from breast cancer surgery in June, which involved a mastectomy.
Now back home, the Price Tag hitmaker revealed on Friday that she is preparing for another operation later this year – but vowed it won’t stop her from parenting or making music.
In a candid Instagram update, Jessie, who is mum to two-year-old Sky, wrote: “I can rest, parent AND release new music.
“I didn't leave a major label after 18 years to be scared to re write the rules to fit around my life/health and just make it realistic on what I can deliver in all roles in my life.”
Confirming she will be going under the knife again, she added: “Another surgery needed this year. I can do it.”
The British hitmaker continued: “Raising a toddler. I can do it. Releasing new music. I can do it.
“It will look different to what I had planned but that's life, things change and either we panic and get mad that it isn't what is was going to be, or we ADAPT.
“I'm just flowing with life and giving the best I can. Instead of stopping and disappearing and waiting for the timing to be perfect to release music again,” she added.
“It's never the perfect time. Because grown up life is layered and has highs and lows and we just have to keep living in all of it. So here I am. LIVING. And I just want you to have the music. Deal?”
She later went on to tell fans she can be “a creative artist, present mother and healing patient, all at the same time,” signing off with a magic wand emoji.
Earlier this week, the Domino singer revealed she returned to hospital where an “infection” and “a little fluid” on her lungs were discovered.
The British star said she has since discharged herself from the hospital where she was treated after breast cancer surgery just weeks ago, revealing in July that she had since seen “no cancer spread”.
The Price Tag singer went on to say it was “frustrating” that her career plans had to change due to her surgery and hospital visits, and added that she had been “working so hard to get to this point and excited to do it all”.
The singer welcomed her son, Sky Safir Cornish Colman, in 2023, having had a miscarriage in November 2021.
She has battled with ill-health throughout her life, having been diagnosed with a heart condition aged eight, suffering a minor stroke aged 18 and having briefly gone deaf in 2020.
The singer-songwriter has had three number one songs in the UK singles chart with Domino, Price Tag and Bang Bang.
She was awarded four Mobo awards in 2011 including best UK act, best newcomer, best song for Do It Like A Dude and best album with Who You Are, and won the Brit Award for rising star in 2011.
