Jerome Boateng 'honoured' by Tottenham transfer rumours as Julian Nagelsmann warning sent

Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Monday, April 19.

Boateng hands Spurs boost amid reported interest

Jerome Boateng is "honoured" by reported interest from Tottenham, according to Christian Falk.

Boateng has been linked with a move to Spurs with the German defender set to leave Bayern Munich in the summer.

Falk, who is Head of Football at German outlet BILD, says that the former Manchester City defender knows about Spurs' interest, but there have been no talks just yet.

He tweeted: "TRUE @JeromeBoateng is honoured for the interest of @SpursOfficial and can imagine a transfer to the Premier League. But so far there have been no talks or negotiations."

Berbatov warns Kane over danger of joining Manchester United

Dimitar Berbatov has urged Harry Kane to make the "easiest decision" regarding his future, with rumours that he might leave Tottenham this summer.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United at the end of the season, with reports suggesting he's becoming increasingly frustrated by Spurs' inability to challenge for the major honours.

Berbatov, who played for both Spurs and United, is in a better position than most to offer some advice - and that's exactly what he's done.

The ex-Spurs star said to Betfair: "If he moves, is it because he is looking for trophies.

"People are connecting him with United, but they haven't won the Premier League for eight years. He needs to go somewhere that will see him win trophies regularly.

"But what happens if he goes to a team and doesn't win anything again? Then he will think; why did I change my environment if I'm not winning anything again?"

Berbatov later added: "The easiest decision is to stay at Spurs, he is a club legend and can break every single record he wants there. I don't see Kane moving abroad - he is an England legend and everyone respects him and I think he will stay in this country."

Spurs handed Nagelsmann warning

RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann is the heavy favourite to replace the outgoing Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich in Germany.

Flick recently announced that he'd be leaving Bayern at the end of the season and the Bundesliga giants reportedly want Nagelsmann to take over.

Meanwhile, football.london understands that Jose Mourinho is looking increasingly likely to leave Tottenham this summer.

With Nagelsmann apparently being considered by Daniel Levy, if Bayern were to land the Leipzig manager, then this would come as a serious blow to Spurs.

Despite it being a slightly more complicated situation between Bayern and Leipzig due to their intense title battle, the former do have previous success after completing the signing of Dayot Upamecano ahead of the summer transfer window.
