Jermaine Jenas highlights one area David Moyes must improve at West Ham United

Jermaine Jenas is calling on West Ham manager David Moyes to inject more energy into his side.

West Ham’s poor run of form continued on Wednesday night as they were thrashed 4-1 by Leicester City at the King Power.

The result leaves the Hammers one place above the drop zone on goal difference, with pressure now mounting on Moyes and the club’s board to secure new recruits in the January transfer window.

And Jenas believes Moyes' side is in desperate need of pace and energy as they don't currently have enough movement off the ball in the team.

"They need energy more than anything," the former England man told BT Sport.

"I think that is the one thing he has alluded to. Because you look at them as a team, and Owen and I spoke about it before the game, names on the sheet they have very good footballers.

"Even today you saw Noble in midfield he was very good on the ball. There are a lot of players in there who if you give them the ball to their feet they can do something with it.

"They have not got enough runners in there, in my opinion. Not enough people who are prepared to run off the ball.

"It was very evident today that the West Ham team lacked a lot of legs and a lot of energy and he either needs to get the into the team he has, or he needs to go and find it."
