Jeremy Sprinkle fined over $84,000 for two un-penalized hits against the Vikings

Washington Redskins tight end Jeremy Sprinkle is getting a heavy fine from the NFL, as he’s been flagged for two unnecessary roughness penalties that came in last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Sprinkle is being fined $84,231 in total, which comes as a massive hit to the backup tight end who only makes $645,000 this season. According to ESPN’s John Keim, the NFL ruled the hits to be “excessive when compared to the player’s expected earnings for the season in question.”

Sprinkle was not penalized for either play during the game and has not been fined previously this season.
