Jeremy Clarkson responds to speculation over second series of hit farm show

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has responded to rumours that there could be a second series of his later hit show - leaving fans bitterly disappointed.

The first season of Clarkson's Farm, on streaming service Amazon Prime, offered a unique and sometimes hilarious insight into farming in the UK and showed the struggles faced by those who work the land.

Clarkson and his team fought against adverse weather conditions, the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on his Cotswolds farm and a huge amount of red tape that impacts UK agriculture, YorkshireLive reports

Fans saw everything from his attempts to round up his flock of sheep with a drone to an abundance of potatoes causing him issues as he struggled to make profit at Diddly Squat Farm.

At the end of the show's first season, Clarkson admitted he had never been happier as he celebrated and reflected on a tough year - prompting hope that there would be a second series.

Twitter user James Jay tweeted Clarkson questioning if cameras were at the farm once again. However, the response was one fans would have been fearing.

Clarkson replied: "No. We aren’t. Write to Amazon, it’s their decision."

The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter had previously dispelled rumours about another run of the fly-on-the-wall show, stating: "Not sure where this 'second series' stuff is coming from. Nothing is confirmed."

Fans have begged Clarkson to make another series. One wrote on Twitter: "Jeremy, I just finished Season 1 of "Clarkson's Farm" on Amazon. Wow... I am deeply impressed! Such great moments, pictures and impressions you gave us.

"While your summary of the first year as a farmer, I had wet eyes. Please continue to show us more of your farm."

Another added: "I hope you can do a second series. The first one was brilliant! Great family viewing ( my boys are 12 and 14). We haven’t laughed like that for a long time!"
