After his stint on Top Gear ended earlier this year, Jeremy Clarkson has now received an offer to star in a new Russian film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The star is being targeted for a role in comedy Kot v Sapogakh, which translates as Puss in Boots. The film is about a young man who has been turned into a cat.
“We offered the role of a foreigner to Clarkson,” producer Armen Manasaryan said. “He hasn’t given us a definitive answer yet. We are in talks.”
The remarks were made during a presentation to the government funding organisation Cinema Fund. The film is also set to star Konstantin Kryukov and Aglaya Shilovskay.
It’s the second offer made to Clarkson from a Russian company. In March, TV station Zvezda offered him work and a spokesperson for the network told The Hollywood Reporter that “he is still thinking” about it.
The film would mark the second upcoming comedy about someone finding themselves trapped in a cat. Kevin Spacey and Christopher Walken have both signed onto Nine Lives, which sees a workaholic businessman find himself in the body of a feline.
