Jeremie Frimpong 'watched' by Roma as Celtic star 'given £13.5m valuation'

Roma are interested in taking Jeremie Frimpong to Serie A - according to a report in Italy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted in various news outlets, claim the 20-year-old Celtic star has caught boss Paulo Fonseca's eye and asked his agent Marco Abreu to contact the Hoops.

It is suggested the Glasgow club quoted a fee of £13.5m if the Italian giants want to take him to one of the top five leagues in Europe.

Paulo Fonseca has launched a rebuild of his squad since he arrived in 2019 but Roma currently sit sixth in the table, seven points behind leaders AC MIlan and are looking for new blood.

Frimpong would no doubt be interested in the prospect of playing in one of the world's best leagues should a fee be agreed.

The wideman is contracted at Celtic Park until 2023 after signing a £1m deal but Manchester City inserted a 30 per cent sell on when he departed.

And that would mean around £4m heading down the M6 should a transfer be agreed.
