Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's film premiere reunion sends fans wild: 'Third time’s a charm'

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have sent the internet into meltdown after reuniting on the red carpet for the first time since their divorce.

The former couple — whose on-off romance once defined an era of Hollywood glamour — were photographed smiling and chatting warmly at the New York premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman on Monday night.

Lopez, 56, stars in the new musical film, while Affleck, 53, serves as executive producer through his company, Artists Equity. Their friendly red-carpet reunion — nine months after finalising their divorce in January — sparked disbelief among fans who have watched their relationship unfold for more than two decades.

“Third time’s a charm… come on!” joked one fan on X (formerly Twitter). Another shared a GIF of reality star Tiffany Pollard rubbing her temples with the caption: “Lord, they’re gonna start this all over again.”

Others were quick to praise the exes for their composure, writing: “They still clearly like each other,” and, “Her besties must be TIRED.” Another user commented: “They’re a mess — but the perfect kind of mess.”

Some fans even compared the pair to screen legends Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, whose fiery romance also spanned multiple marriages. “Two people who can’t be together but can’t stay apart,” one post read.

Not everyone was convinced the reunion was purely sentimental. “This film is getting zero press,” one sceptical user wrote. “Must be as bad as Gigli.”

Still, the moment provided an unexpected dose of nostalgia for “Bennifer” fans who have followed their story since the early 2000s.

Lopez dazzled in a dramatic black Harris Reed gown with a corseted waist, while Affleck looked sharp in a navy suit as he wrapped an arm around his ex-wife for photos.

The On the Floor hitmaker later thanked Affleck during her on-stage remarks, telling the audience: “This movie wouldn’t have been made without Ben and without Artists Equity.”

The appearance comes just weeks after Lopez described their split as “the best thing that ever happened” to her — though after this latest red-carpet moment, many fans aren’t convinced the Bennifer chapter is truly over.
