Jennifer Lopez adds lingerie designer to her impressive repertoire

She’s been named People Magazine’s “World’s Most Beautiful Woman” three times - most recently in 2021 aged 51. And although beauty is in the eye of the beholder (and almost always comes from within), there’s no denying that Jennifer Lopez is an utter bombshell - both inside and out.

And that’s not to mention those abs. Throw in her status as Forbes 38th most powerful woman in the world, and it’s no wonder that the pop-star-turned-actress-turned-designer has just announced an exciting lingerie capsule collection with Italian brand Intimissimi.

The star has designed an exclusive lingerie capsule for Intimissimi (Intimissimi)

"Lingerie is deeply intimate - it’s an embrace that empowers you to feel free and beautiful,” JLo tells The Standard exclusively over email. “It’s delicate, it’s soft yet reveals the confidence in yourself,” she continues, explaining her decision to partner with the luxe Italian underwear brand.

It’s not the first time that the ‘All I Have’ singer has worked with Intimissimi. In March the star was announced as a global brand ambassador alongside a sizzling campaign. Shot by Chris Colls and featuring JLo lounging around a bed in a selection of the brands, the fashion community were left wanting more - which they’ve just been blessed with.

Named after her upcoming album ‘This Is Me… Now’, the collection fuses music, fashion and woman empowerment - three pillars from which JLo has spearheaded her life and career. By intertwining the sensuality and elegance intrinsic to women, the American icon hopes to imbue her signature no holds barred style and attitude.

The 'This Is Me... Now' campaign was shot by Norman Jean Roy, who captured the star reclining on a sofa in a striking sheer black baby doll dress and a champagne bralette with matching silk robe. Of course, special shout outs must be made to the vibrant and intense green cut out bodice, which is a colour synonymous with the global star. After all, who could forget that plunging Versace silk chiffon dress, first worn at the 2000 Grammy Awards (and later recreated at the Spring 2020 runway show)? Certainly not us, and definitely not JLo.

Throughout the collection, which is made from silk fabrics and refined lace, a hummingbird motif takes centre stage. The symbol is an extremely important one to the star, who believes it represents luck, resilience, and vibrant energy . Considering the mogul has gotten married, launched a new fragrance line, is about to release her ninth studio album and has just debuted this lingerie line, perhaps it's a symbol we could all welcome into our lives.
