Jennifer Aniston surprises nurse battling coronavirus with sweet video call

Jennifer Aniston gave one of her most deserving fans a phone call she will never forget by Facetiming a nurse who is battling coronavirus.

The Friends star joined comedian Jimmy Kimmel on his late night talk show to chat to Kimball Fairbank, who contracted the bug while working on the frontline.

The Utah woman has been furloughed and then separated from her two children since testing positive.

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimball said she felt like she was "hit by a train" after falling unwell.

She then got a shock as the actress, 51, appeared on screen to say hello.

"Wow - it's so good to meet you!" Kimball beamed after Jen said how fantastic it was to talk to her.

The star added: "I don't know how to express my gratitude to you and everyone who puts their health at risk.

"I want you to tell all your colleagues how much we appreciate what you are all doing."

Then the host told the nurse that she was being sent a $10,000 card to help her through - and so were the others in her department at the hospital.

Jen said she is coping quite well despite being locked down.

“I’m a born agoraphobe,” she said, adding that she had not left her home in three weeks.

“This is kind of a dream – not a dream, it’s obviously a nightmare. But, for me personally, it’s not been that much of a challenge.

“I was a crazy person the first week, and then I realised I had to pull back because I was going to run out of closets. Thirty more days! I’ve got to pace myself.”

In America there have been over 250,000 coronavirus cases with nearly 7,500 deaths reported so far.
