Jeff Brazier has spoken publicly for the first time about his separation from wife Kate Dwyer, confirming the couple quietly ended their marriage over the summer.
Reports emerged earlier this week that the pair, who married in 2018, had gone their separate ways. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the presenter, 46, said they decided to keep the split private for several months while they adjusted.
Sharing a throwback photo from a family holiday, Brazier wrote that their relationship came to an end after they realised they “couldn’t make each other happy”, and reflected on what he described as a difficult year — including a period of fractured relations with his son Freddy, 21.
“I’m so full of love and gratitude for Kate. For all we achieved, for how much we grew, for everything we endured,” he wrote. “We separated in the summer and kept it private for as long as we could to give us some time to adjust.”
“For 12 years we have been each other’s safe space, each other’s biggest supporters at a time when our lives have been busy, painful and complex. I’m so proud of how hard we worked… I’m also full of respect and admiration for the successful career Kate has built and the way she cared for me unconditionally.”
Brazier added that Dwyer, 35, remains in touch to check on his sons Bobby, 21, and Freddy, who is expecting his first child. “It’s credit to the woman she is that she still checks in… They love her and I will miss her family who always went above and beyond to support us.”
He said the pair will “carry on supporting each other”, adding: “We both deserve complete happiness and we’re upset that we ultimately couldn’t be that for one another.”
Friends including Kate Lawler, Lisa Snowdon and Rebecca Loos sent supportive messages beneath the post.
It comes after reports that Dwyer moved out of their home several weeks ago. Brazier has recently shared updates from what he called a “transitional time” as he settles into a new countryside property, and was seen without his wedding ring while reporting for Good Morning Britain in Reykjavik. Dwyer was also spotted without her ring during a recent trip to the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The couple previously split in 2022 before reconciling seven months later. At the time, Dwyer said she had “felt like a failure” before realising “everyone has their struggles”.
The family has also weathered a turbulent year surrounding Brazier’s son Freddy, who earlier this month revealed he had experienced a severe mental health crisis during his late teens and spent his 18th birthday in a psychiatric unit. The influencer, whose mother Jade Goody died in 2009, also recently reconciled with his father following a very public rift.
Brazier has not addressed those events directly in his latest post, but acknowledged that “painful and complex” circumstances had taken a toll. “My words don’t tell the full picture because they don’t need to,” he wrote. “I know I’ll be celebrating [Kate’s] inevitable wins just like before.”
One thing he does have to look forward to next year is he’s set to become a grandfather for the first time as Freddy’s ex-girlfriend is pregnant.
