Jazmel Patterson-Low killing: Detectives offer £20,000 reward for information on young man's fatal shooting

Detectives investigating the death of a young man who was gunned down after a row in south London are offering a £20,000 reward for information.

Jazmel Patterson-Low, 26, was tragically killed after a gunman burst open fire in Lambeth, south London last year.

The Metropolitan Police believe a “dispute” had flared up on the Westbury Estate, in the early hours of May 11, 2024 resulting in a gun being fired.

Around 40 people had gathered on the estate on St Rule Street prior to the shooting, according to Scotland Yard.

After the shooting, Patterson-Low was taken to nearby St Thomas’ Hospital in a private car but was pronounced dead by medics at 3am.

A post-mortem examination held the following day confirmed the cause of death as a single gunshot wound.

His family continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

A suspect, 25, was arrested on suspicion of murder on May 14, 2024 but subsequently released without charge.

The Met are now offering a “substantial” reward to encourage anyone with details of the incident to come forward.

Detective Inspector Martin Thorpe, who is leading the case, said: “It has been a year since the death of Jazmel and we are still actively searching for those involved.

“We want to know what happened that morning on St Rule Street SW8. We know there was a group of around 40 people gathered there on Friday evening and into the early hours of Saturday morning. If you were there, then you may have crucial information for us.

“I am grateful to those who have come forward already, however we still need more from the public. This is why we are now offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information that leads to the successful charge and conviction of the person responsible.

“Think back to last May, did you witness what happened to Jazmel? Do you know who fired the gun? Did you see anyone running from the St Rule Street area? If you know what happened, then you need to speak to us.

“We will support you throughout, you can also contact Crimestoppers to remain anonymous and your identity will be protected. Alliances change over time, so please do the right thing by coming forward.”

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to call 101 quoting Op Bulbhorn or CAD 884/11MAY24.

Information can also be submitted at mipp.police.uk/operation/01MPS24W49-PO1.
