Jaydev Shah will be 'BCCI representative' with Team India during Sri Lanka series

MUMBAI: Saurashtra Cricket Association president Jaydev Shah will travel with Team India for the home series against Sri Lanka as the 'BCCI's representative'.

The series involves three T20 Internationals and two Tests next month. The first T20I will take place in Lucknow on Thursday.

The 38-year-old Jaydev, who scored 5,354 runs in 120 first-class games@29.91, with 10 hundreds and 20 fifties, captained Saurashtra for close to a decade.

"I thank the BCCI president (Sourav Ganguly) and secretary (Jay Shah) for providing me with this opportunity," Shah told TOI.

Jaydev is the son of former BCCI and SCA secretary Niranjan Shah, a veteran administrator.
