Jason Manford terrified at 2am knock on the door by creepy unexpected guest

Jason Manford has opened up about a terrifying knock at the door that came unexpectedly at 2am.

When the bell went in the early hours of the morning Jason, 41, checked cameras that he has fitted to see who had appeared.

Seeing nobody waiting for him at the door he went on to check the front gate camera and came across the frightful sight of an unexpected guest.

Taking to Twitter, the comedian said: "Well this wasn’t absolutely terrifying!

"The doorbell went off at 2am so I checked cameras. No sign of anyone. So checked the front gate cam!

"What!? Spiders can ring doorbells now!!?"

The father of six shared a short video of the spider in question crawling across a web right in front of the camera. He took to Twitter less than half an hour after the incident, with late night Twitter users quickly responding.

One follower joked: "Does that make it a Webcam?!"

One suggested that he should get Spider X spray to avoid this happening again, they wrote: "Order some Spider X spray. Clean the area then spray it on to avoid future spider overlords."

A fan who had went through something similar said: "We’ve had that too!! It activates the camera and I always feel nervous checking lol! Heavy rain can do it too!"

Another said: "I can beat that. My burglar alarm went off at 1:30 in the morning and I was alone in the house. That too was a spider. The Ring doorbell did not ring because it was on the inside! Terrifying"

One joked that the spider was early for this month's festivities, saying: "Ha ha, spooky spiders too early for Halloween."

Jason recently made headlines alongside former cricketer Andrew Flintoff when it was revealed that the pair had landed an ITV show which will see them go camping.

The series will be called Two Men In A Tent and consist of a one-off hour-long special, in which Freddie and Jason will have to pitch up on the side of Wales' highest peak; Mount Snowdon.

The duo aren't known for their survival skills but the show aims to appeal to fans of larger-than-life Freddie and quick-witted Jason, who have both appeared on the West End, as they keep themselves occupied on their travels.

A TV insider told The Sun: "Getting these two together is a no-brainer for ITV bosses, though the random challenge might leave a few viewers scratching their heads as neither have huge experience of surviving outdoors.

"Fortunately Freddie does have some experience of working closely with a comedian as he’s used to filming with Paddy McGuinness on Top Gear.

"Though he won’t have worked quite as closely as this before, as they will be sleeping centimetres away from each other on their jaunt in Wales."
