Jason Cummings invents bonkers nickname after comparison to Manchester United legend

Jason Cummings has invented a rather bonkers nickname for himself after comparisons to Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham.

On-loan at Luton Town from Nottingham Forest, the Scot was likened to Sheringham by boss Mick Harford as he struck a late equaliser in Saturday's draw with Blackpool.

Cummings , only 23, admits that particular moniker didn't resonate much with him as the former Old Trafford hero was a bit before his time.

The former Hibs star, commonly known as "Cumdog", instead revealed he's been compared to another United legend in the past - Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

In his own inimitable fashion, Cummings coined a new nickname that we're not sure is going to catch on.

Speaking to Luton's media team, Cummings said: "Teddy Sheringham? He's not really my era.

"I used to get called Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Ruud Van Cumdog I used to get call called.

"But Teddy Sheringham? I've never been compared to Teddy, but I'll take it."
