Jarvis Cocker confirms Pulp reunion shows for 2023

Jarvis Cocker has confirmed that Pulp will return for a string of reunion shows next year. The singer revealed the news at a Q&A session for his new memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop.

It follows a 15-second clip shared on Cocker's Instagram recently that featured the question: "What exactly do you do for an encore?" The line is taken from the title track of This Is Hardcore, the band's 1998 album.

Cocker captioned the clip "Good question... #overtoyou" leaving fans to speculate. It was finally confirmed at the Guardian -hosted event when the singer said: "It was deliberately cryptic.

"It’s a line from This Is Hardcore…" he added. "Next year Pulp are going to play some concerts."

Nick Banks also shared that more news about the shows was expected to follow soon. Taking to Twitter, the band's drummer said: "Hey folks, unsurprisingly it’s has all gone a bit mental on here.

"Gig details will be revealed as and when. Stay calm, hug your #pulp records and dream of going mental sometime in 2023."

The last time Pulp officially reunited was in 2011 when the band announced 22 concerts between May and September of that year. The reunion stretched into 2012 and ended in February 2013 when Pulp performed on The Jonathan Ross Show.

Cocker is currently promoting his new memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop. He recently provided music for Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. In 2020, his band Jarv Is… released a new album called Beyond The Pale.

It’s not known yet when, where and how many gigs will take place in 2023.
