Kushikatsu deep-fried meat and vegetables on skewers and takoyaki octopus dumplings were among the items on the menu at the IMC in Intex Osaka, the main venue for the summit in the city's Suminoe Ward.

Reporters for overseas media outlets got their fill of the fresh, piping hot Osaka specialities. A popular kushikatsu eatery in the city offered skewered beef and yam among other varieties. Soybean oil was used for frying so that vegetarians and Muslims could also enjoy the cuisine.
