Jan Vertonghen breaks Tottenham players' silence on Christian Eriksen's Inter Milan transfer

Christian Eriksen's time at Tottenham has come to an end.

The Danish international has completed a move from Spurs to Inter Milan, having been strongly linked with a transfer since last summer.

Eriksen told supporters he was looking for a "new challenge" last summer, but the midfielder stayed in north London, entering the final year of his contract with at Tottenham.

There was a fear that the 27-year-old would leave this summer on a free transfer, but after weeks of speculation and negotiation over his future,Inter Milan have now completed a move for the Danish playmaker for a fee which is thought to be in the region of £16.9million.

In total, Eriksen made 305 appearances for Tottenham following his move from Ajax in August, 2013, and scored 69 times.

And his long-time team-mate at Spurs, Jan Vertonghen, has been the first to comment on Eriksen's switch to Serie A, with the Belgian taking to social media to express his feelings on the Dane's move.

His post on Instagram, which included a picture of the pair together during their time at Tottenham, was accompanied by the message: "I'll miss you bro."

Vertonghen, who joined Spurs in 2012, was a team-mate of Eriksen's throughout his time at Tottenham.

The Belgian is also out of contract this summer, and has also been linked with a move away, although the 32-year-old has said that he is happy in north London.
