Jammu and Kashmir retrenches 5 ‘deadwood’ officials with graft charges

SRINAGAR: J&K government headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday ordered premature retirement of five “deadwood” officers after they were charged with corruption.

An official spokesperson said the LG administration, in a bid to weed out inefficient and corrupt government employees, has launched a clean-up drive in the administration and as part of the process, he prematurely retired five officers, whoJ were blamed for corrupt practices.

Those against whom action was taken are: Hamid Ahmad Wani, Farzana Naqshbandi, Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Mohammad Lone, and Mohd Ashraf.
