JAMMU: After a spine chilling video of a woman mercilessly beating her nine-month-old baby in Samba district on Jammu and Kashmir went viral, police arrested her.
Soon after the video went viral on social media, WhatsApp groups and Facebook, the netizens started demanding action against the woman for the brutality.
"This woman has been arrested by the #Samba district police in #Jammu region of #JammuAndKashmir after video emerged of her brutally thrashing and torturing a child" tweeted Dr Satwant Singh Rissam.

Meanwhile, police also said that the heart-wrenching video shows the woman purportedly seen thrashing, slapping and also throwing the child on a bed.
Police said that her husband along with Sarpanch of Samba district's Bri Kamila area, Mukhtiyar Singh also happened to see the video who immediately approached the police and a case was registered.
"Following this, the woman has been arrested, police said Sr superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Abhishek Mahajan said, "The child (female) has been handed over to her husband."
