Jamie Foxx 'awake' and 'alert' after being rushed to hospital over medical issues

Jamie Foxx is "awake" and "alert" after he was hospitalised after suffering from a medical complication.

Jamie's Hollywood pal Nick Cannon provided fans with a health update after it was revealed that the actor was "doing better" following the health scare.

Nick told Entertainment Tonight of Fox News : "He's awake. They say he's alert, so, we love it.

"I was reluctant to go all the way there, and even talk about it, but he gave me the blessing, so it's a beautiful thing," he added. "I know he's doing so much better because I'm actually about to do something special for him, and doing him a favor.

The Masked Singer star concluded his statement by confirming that he couldn't elaborate further on what medical complications Jamie had suffered from but instead said: "I can't really say what it is, but it'll be out there soon."

Nick's update comes after Martin Lawrence told Extra that Jamie was "doing better" and is a "good person."

"Well, I hear he's doing better," he revealed. "My prayers go out for him every night and just wishing the best for him, one of the best that we got in Hollywood."

He continued: "Not only one of the best entertainers but a good person."

Fans were filled with concern after Jamie's daughter Corinne Foxx issued a statement about the actor.

"We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," she wrote. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers."

A source had revealed that there had been "changes in production" on the set of Back in Action, the movie Jamie is currently filming with Glenn Close and Cameron Diaz.

An email obtained by People Magazine read that informed extras that a scene set to film had been cancelled and the scene was not set to be rescheduled due to the changes.

Things were soon rescheduled and Cameron was seen acting with a body double for Jamie as filming for the upcoming Hollywood blockbuster continued.
