Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher believes that new Manchester United recruit Jadon Sancho could become a "superstar" for the Old Trafford outfit.
Sancho, who stepped off the bench to make his second appearance for the club during Sunday's 1-1 draw against Southampton at St Mary's, joined United last month in a £72.9million deal from German heavyweights Borussia Dortmund.
The winger, who was a long-term target of United's, was added to the squad to significantly strengthen the right-wing area, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having been desperate to strengthen that area for quite some time.
Although Sancho is yet to be awarded his first start for the club, and, as such, has been unable to make any sort of impact in his cameo appearances against both Leeds United and Southampton, Carragher believes the England ace has he potential to make a real name for himself at Old Trafford.
"I think Jadon Sancho could be a superstar, I really do," Carragher told Sky Sports. "You look at his numbers in German football, in a top league with a top club, at Borussia Dortmund.
"They’ve been after him for a while and they need that player on the right side. At times, I think he’s as good on the left when you look at his stats at Dortmund.
"You’re getting one of the superstars from the Bundesliga."
Last season, Sancho, who does not turn 22 until March, netted 16 goals and claimed 20 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for Dortmund, highlighting his potential.
Once the former Manchester City youngster has got up to speed with his fitness and understanding of how United play, similar figures will be expected of him.
