Liverpool FC legend Jamie Carragher has officially opened The Sandon Hotel this afternoon ahead of LFC’s match against Barcelona.
The 115-bed hotel is an extension of popular Anfield pub The Sandon which has been a Reds matchday favourite for decades.
Just a stone's throw away from Anfield stadium itself, the £1m hotel and pub expansion is set to be an in-demand hotel with football fans.

The hotel is packed with signed memorabilia while deep red hues dominate the colour scheme.
The rooms include pods and vary in size with the majority sleeping up to six people and others up to 10.
As well as the hotel, owner Kate Steward has invested in refurbishing the pub and improving the suites for LFC hospitality events, parties and functions.
Kate also confirmed that The Sandon will continue its work with LFC as an official partner.
Originally built by John Houldings in 1870, the building was used to sell beers from his brewery.

However over the years the venue forged links with football in the city as it became the meeting venue for players of St Domingo FC and it later became the headquarters for the team.
In the following years, it was also used as a dressing room.
