Jamie Carragher makes statement about Arsene Wenger's Invincibles that Arsenal fans will love

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has shared his experiences of facing off against Arsene Wenger's legendary Invincibles side.

The famous Gunners team stormed to Premier League glory in 2003/04 by winning the title without losing a single game in the league, during a three-year high for the club.

In that period, Arsenal also won the FA Cup in 2005 and reached the Champions League final in 2006, during a spell where the north London side were among the best in the world.

Naturally, that led to difficulties when facing off against them and former Liverpool man Carragher has spoken about the challenges those fixtures posed.

Mikel Arteta praises his team after playing three games in seven days

“The interesting thing about how good Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea team was, I found it much more difficult coming up against that Arsenal team." he told Sky Sports.

"When I played against that Chelsea team, I didn’t feel like I was out of my depth on the pitch. When we came up against that Arsenal team, sometimes you go into the game when your confidence was low, you didn’t feel like you could compete with them physically.

“When I came up against Manchester United teams or Chelsea teams, you felt like you could match them physically, you could run, you could jump, you could compete.

"But that Arsenal team, you knew they were better players than you, they were too quick, they were too powerful.

“The three-year period we’re looking at, that was the best team that I’ve played against in the Premier League.”
