Jamie Carragher makes Manchester United top-four prediction following Arsenal draw

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal will finish above Manchester United in the Premier League this season and claim a place in the top-four in the process.

The two played out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Monday night, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cancelling out Scott McTominay's first half opener.

The result moved Arsenal back into the top-four on goal difference ahead of West Ham, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are now three points off the Champions League places.

But when asked after the game on Sky Sports which club is more likely to finish in the top-four, Carragher picked Arsenal due to the forwards Unai Emery has at his disposal, including Aubameyang.

“I think Arsenal have just got the edge because of the goals in the team," said Carragher who was a pundit for the game alongside ex United captain Roy Keane.

"In Aubameyang, he’s top class, he’s one of the best strikers in the league and was top-scorer last year, you wouldn’t bet against him being top-scorer again.

“They’ve got Lacazette there as well, they’ve just got more goals and it’s a massive worry for Manchester United, that record of not scoring more than one goal in a game.

"For any team that is poor but for Manchester United that’s a massive worry.

“I don’t really see it changing. You can say they need to be more clinical but do they actually have the quality to do that? I don’t think so.”
