Jamie Carragher makes Brendan Rodgers prediction amid Arsenal and Chelsea links

Leicester City are a hot talking point at the moment as they continue to battle the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham for a Champions League spot this season.

Brendan Rodgers has, therefore, found himself in the headlines again in England after enjoying silverware aplenty in Scotland with Celtic.

The former Liverpool boss, who once took the Reds close to the Premier League title during his time at Anfield, is now making huge inroads at Leicester.

Jamie Vardy is back in form and the Foxes are putting serious pressure on teams such as the Gunners, whose manager Unai Emery is under scrutiny after an indifferent start to the season.

Rodgers' success at Leicester got the pundits talking ahead of their clash at Southampton and the debate turned to where the ex-Reds boss could end up long-term if he was to leave the Foxes for a bigger club.

Liverpool great Jamie Carragher was on punditry duties for the clash and was quick to offer his thoughts on Rodgers' future when asked where he could end up down the line.

"As you said, Liverpool is out of the question, Man United is out of the question but if you look at Arsenal, Chelsea in a few years time, whether Frank (Lampard) stays there or not.

"He's got a link to Chelsea being in the youth set-up and the reserves," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"I think those are the two jobs really, maybe International wise as well.

"Who knows how long Gareth Southgate will last, maybe he goes after the next World Cup and I think Brendan Rodgers would come into the reckoning.

"When he was flying at Liverpool his name was continuously coming up for the England job, I think they're the types of jobs he'll be looking at but he knows getting back into the Premier League on the back of what happened with Liverpool, if he got Leicester into the top four, it gives him a great chance, or restores his credibility, which went a touch in that last season at Liverpool."
