James Rodriguez on Everton's 'people with quality' and his hunger for success

James Rodriguez has spoken of his pleasure at being surrounded by quality and talent at Everton.

The Colombian superstar made an impressive Blues debut at Tottenham on Sunday as Carlo Ancelotti's men triumphed 1-0 in the capital thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin's second half header.

The 29-year-old showcased his talent on the ball at the Tottenham Stadium and give Evertonians an intriguing glimpse of what they can expect from their new attacking midfield.

And Rodriguez told ESPN Brasil that his first few days at the club have shown him he will be surrounded by good players.

“I see people with quality, people who have talent", Rodriguez said.

"I saw in these five days. For what the club wants, this is good.

"I try to help the team win and if I can do passes and goals, it’s much easier."

Rodriguez also spoke of his adaptation to a new style of football with this being his first experience of the Premier League.

"In the end, football is the same all over the world. But football here is much more physical, much stronger. Of course I have to learn too, right.

"When you have talent, you have quality, it’s easier. As I said, I am one more, I want to help the club always go further.

“I’m nearly 30. For life I’m young, but for football, I’m already grown.

"As I said before, I want to help everyone and for my teammates to feel that I’m one more, I didn’t come to look like the great one.

"I just want to help and show that I am hungry to win things.”
