James Keatings CLEARED as SFA complete astonishing suspension u-turn

James Keatings has been cleared to play in the Caramel Wafer Cup Final after an SFA tribunal reversed its decision to suspend him.

The Inverness striker was shown a second yellow for diving during the semi-final win over Rangers Colts.

Caley immediately appealed as TV evidence clearly showed the 28-year-old being fouled.

An initial Hampden hearing rejected the club's claim of "wrongful caution" and sparked outrage across Scottish football.

Inverness declared they were "incredulous and furious" amid a fierce public outcry.

The SFA then released an astonishing statement rendering the initial decision "invalid" and the outcome "not competent".

The governing body admitted that a member of the independent panel had later come forward to reveal they had not reviewed all the available evidence.

Keatings was then granted a second appeal, which has now been upheld and the original verdict overturned.

The frontman is now free to face League One Raith Rovers in the March final.
