Jake Quickenden admits his fiancee dropped massive hints for him to propose

Jake Quickenden says getting married "feels right" but admits that his partner dropped big hints to let him know it was time for him to propose.

The singer, 32, revealed how new fiancée Sophie Church sent him a snap of the engagement ring she liked before he had got down on one knee.

Shortly before he proposed, he explained to OK! Magazine how Sophie had went ring shopping by herself so she could send him some examples of what she wanted for when he did pop the question.

He said: "She sent me a picture of her ring the other day and said, 'Just for keepsake, this is one that I like.'

"So I think the hints are starting a little bit so maybe I need to pull my finger out."

And it appears as though the hints worked as the pair are now happily engaged following Jake's romantic proposal in Greece.

The former X Factor star told his social media followers "she said yes" following his proposal in Rhodes and he shared a photo of himself and Sophie kissing beside the clear blue ocean on their break.

He also added: "The love of my life the mother to my beautiful Leo and Freddie, I love you so much… this isn't a drill it's actually happening."

The couple have five month old baby Leo and live together alongside Sophie's son Freddie, six, who she has from a previous relationship.

Jake continued: "I never feel like there's a certain thing you have to do. People might think having a baby before you get married is the wrong way around.

"But I don't think there's any kind of pressure on life, you just do what feels right. Right now, it feels right."

Jake was forced to call the cops in July after a vile troll posted evil messages to his baby son.

The singer faced a barrage of abuse from an anonymous Twitter account in which the user included Jake's name.

The horrific slurs included suggesting baby Leo needs botox and even wishing him dead.

It led to Jake tweeting his local law enforcement agency to appeal for help. He wrote: "Can someone from @EssexPoliceUK surely help, this page is disgusting!! Need to find out who is behind it.”

He called the abuser a "f***ing disgrace" and admitted he would love to do a show where he worked alongside the police to track down trolls and confront them with people who they had trolled.
