Jake Paul criticised for "soy boy" role in UFC fighter pay dispute

YouTube boxer Jake Paul has been slammed by UFC fighter Charles Jourdain over his efforts to improve fighter pay in the promotion.

Paul has been embroiled in a bitter feud with UFC president Dana White since last year, constantly challenging the 53-year-old to improve conditions for fighters under his banner. 'The Problem Child' recently announced the launch of his United Fighters Association, with UFC legend Anderson Silva agreeing to help him on his mission to provide MMA professionals with fairer contracts.

KSI's latest opponent, FaZe Temperrr, recently praised Paul's efforts whilst adding that UFC fighters are being "robbed" by the promotion. Jourdain was less than impressed with Temperrr's opinion and took to Twitter to write: "Keep sitting behind a computer and talk, martial arts are a way of life that soy boy [Paul] can't understand. We don't want you clowns to 'help' us. You guys are fake and make money of (sic.) being fake. Can't fake being a real UFC fighter."

Fans were quick to criticise Jourdain, with some also telling the UFC star that his viewpoint is the reason fighters in the promotion aren't being paid adequately. "Except you are just proving his point, you're getting paid less than this guy [Temperrr] while putting your life on the line... you are getting robbed whether you like it or not," one wrote.

"Why would you trash someone that supports you? He's not claiming to be a UFC fighter, he just wants UFC fighters to make more money," anther social media user added. A third wrote: "Massive respect for what you do, super tough and scary job that most can't do. But man, the extra money is there, it's just going to the company. I think more should go to you guys for what you do rather than the company, they are making billions, they won't miss it."

Jourdain went on to reveal the terms of his UFC deal, with the Canadian seemingly guaranteed $75,000 per fight whilst also earning a $75,000 bonus if he wins. The 27-year-old fought three times last year but lost two of his bouts, earning an estimated $300,000 before paying any taxes and fees to his trainers.

"I make 150k for a win. If I win 3 fights of 15 minutes, That's 450k for 45 minutes of performance. But please anonymous Twitter expert do go on and tell me how much of a victim I am. I use to be that guy. Its hard indeed, I had to prove my worth in order to make more. I hate complaining ... do more earn more its reality not fairy tale," Jourdain wrote.
