Jak Alnwick 'rejects' Aberdeen and Hibs as St Mirren keeper bound for English Championship

St Mirren keeper Jak Alnwick will reject both Aberdeen AND Hibs as he makes his next move, according to a report.

The English shot-stopper, who joined the Buddies when his Rangers deal ran out in 2020, is out of contract at the end of this season.

And the Scottish Sun claim he's bound for the English Championship with Cardiff City.

The Welsh side are safe from relegation but nevertheless will want to improve for next season as they sit bottom half of England's second tier.

They are set to lose current No.1 Alex Smithies in the summer and manager Steve Morison is continuing his Bluebirds rebuild.

He sees Alnwick as a key part of that and is said to have made Alnwick contract offer that has blown his former manager Jim Goodwin at Aberdeen and Hibees boss Shaun Maloney out of the water.

Stephen Robinson held out hope his man would sign a new contract in Paisley but it now looks like he's set to go down south.

Meanwhile, Record Sport told you on Thursday night that St Mirren defender Charles Dunne is a new target for Goodwin in the northeast.

Connor Ronan, currently on loan from Wolves, is also interesting the Irishman.
