Jaguars LT Cam Robinson doubtful to play vs. Chiefs on Sunday

As was alluded to in Thursday’s injury report, Jaguars LT Cam Robinson was a player to watch heading into the game.

Robinson was downgraded to a limited participant in practice on Thursday and now it appears he won’t make his 2019 debut on Sunday. According to The Athletic’s Philip Heilman, Robinson will be listed as doubtful to play on the Jaguars’ official injury report. Robinson suffered a knee injury in 2018 but this is not an issue with his surgically repaired knee.

With backup offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi also expected to be ruled out, the Jaguars will call on second-year RG Will Richardson to fill in. That’s hardly an ideal situation for the Jaguars to be in as Richardson has purely been an interior player in the NFL.

This could make for a long day for Nick Foles and company as Frank Clark will be lining up opposite Richardson. Clark will likely be getting some extra attention in terms of double teams and chips from running backs. That means that players like Chris Jones and Alex Okafor will have a chance to win in constant 1-on-1 matchups.

Expect the Jaguars to lean heavily on the quick throw game in order to try and diminish the impact of the Chiefs’ pass rush.

We’ll have a full injury report for both the Chiefs and Jaguars complete with designations later this afternoon.
