Jack Turner sold by Queen's Park on ambition upon move

Jack Turner admits he can't wait to get his teeth stuck into Scottish football after joining Queen's Park.

The midfielder becomes the latest addition at the Championship club, as they aim to mount yet another title bid to secure promotion to Scotland's top flight.

The 20-year-old joins from Southampton on a three-year contract.

His move brings to an end an 11-year spell with his boyhood club on the south coast of England.

And while that door has closed for Turner, the Englishman is relishing the chance to show his creativity in the environment created at Queen's Park, working under new manager Robin Veldman.

“I am delighted to be here," Turner beamed. "The ambition of the club, as well as the project it is undertaking, is what enticed me to move, I just cannot wait to get going.

“Coming to play for the oldest club in Scotland, and where football started, has made this move very attractive for me.

"I want to contribute to the team by being creative and playing football the right way but also by working hard and trying to win as many games as possible.”

The club's Director of Football, Marijn Beuker, was equally delighted to bring Turner to the club.

He commented: “Jack is a very powerful midfielder who will contribute a lot of defensive control on our midfield. That is important in the compact organisation we would like to have on the field during games.

“Whilst he can defend, he is equally very comfortable on the ball and creative in progressive attacking passes. We are very happy to have been able to add Jack to the team.”
