Jack Grealish makes Declan Rice claim during England's Euro 2020 preparations

Jack Grealish and Declan Rice have shown a huge amount of respect for each other through the season, with each man taking to social media numerous times to praise the other.

During West Ham's extra-time FA Cup defeat to Manchester United in February, Grealish posted a picture of Rice in action with the caption: "What a player."

Grealish once again used social media to praise his international teammate in March following Rice's Player of the Match performance against Poland in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

"What a player mannnnn," he wrote on Instagram.

The Aston Villa star has now again praised Rice, naming him the most energetic player in the England camp.

Speaking on England’s TikTok page Grealish said: "Most energetic? The most energetic is Declan Rice."

Whether Grealish meant on the field or off it is unclear but given he has taken to social media on so many occasions to praise his midfield colleague it is clear there is a lot of respect for Rice.

The West Ham vice-captain is expected to line up in the defensive midfield role for England during the European Championships, with England getting their campaign underway on Sunday evening against Croatia.

Grealish's starting spot is not as secure but after fine performances in the pre-tournament warm-up matches, it would be no surprise to see the pair line up alongside one another in Gareth Southgate's starting XI.

Rice has previously given his nod of approval to Grealish and believes the 25-year-old is more than capable of starting for the Three Lions alongside Chelsea's Mason Mount.

"I think if you look at Jack and you look at Mason, obviously there's always going to be comparisons but they pretty much play in two different parts of the pitch," Rice said following England's 3-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in November 2020.

"Mason now at Chelsea is playing as an attacking number eight and Jack is playing off the left.

"I think you could see the other night that they can both play in the same team for sure and they're both great players that I think we should be valuing.

"For the nation and for me as someone who gets to play with these players we're lucky that we get to play with such talents."
