J.B. Smoove Expresses Interest In Playing Bond Villain

J.B. Smoove shares post-Curb plans, including interest in playing a Bond villain.

Curb Your Enthusiasm star J.B. Smoove recently shared his post-Curb plans as the long-running HBO sitcom comes to an end. Smoove, known for his roles in Def Comedy Jam and Saturday Night Live, joined the Curb Your Enthusiasm cast in season 6 as Leon Black, a character who becomes Larry David's housemate after being displaced by a hurricane.

After 12 successful seasons spanning 24 years, Curb Your Enthusiasm is concluding its run. In a recent interview with Variety, Smoove expressed his interest in playing a Bond villain in a 007 movie, humorously mentioning his desire to 'shoot somebody in the ass.'

While Smoove's Bond villain aspirations may be in jest, his comedic background and charismatic persona could bring a fresh dynamic to the iconic role. With his improvisational skills and bold personality, Smoove could deliver lines with unexpected comedic timing, adding a unique flair to the character.

Although Aaron Taylor-Johnson is rumored to be the next James Bond, details about the upcoming Bond film and its villains remain scarce. The franchise is expected to maintain the gritty and intense tone established by recent Bond movies, steering away from the campier elements of earlier installments.

Despite the unlikely prospect of Smoove portraying a Bond villain, the actor has a successful career beyond Curb Your Enthusiasm. He has secured roles in various projects, including Netflix's Good Times animated reboot and voicing Frank the Plant in Harley Quinn series.

As Curb Your Enthusiasm concludes, it marks a significant moment for Smoove, who acknowledges the uniqueness of his role as Leon. The series finale is set to air on April 7, closing a chapter in Smoove's career.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, created by Larry David of Seinfeld fame, offers a semi-fictionalized glimpse into David's daily life, featuring a cast that includes Larry David, Cheryl Hines, and Jeff Garlin.
