The Yankees have named J.A. Happ the starter for Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Red Sox at Fenway Park on Friday.
The Red Sox will send ace Chris Sale to the mound in Game 1.
In 11 starts with the Yankees after being acquired from Toronto in exchange for Brandon Drury and Billy McKinney ahead of the trade deadline, Happ went 7-0 with a 2.69 ERA, 1.052 WHIP and 63 strikeouts.
Happ made four combined starts with the Blue Jays and Yankees against the Red Sox this season. He went 1-1 with a 1.99 ERA and 1.015 WHIP.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday. The game will air on TBS.
