Ivan Gazidis hatches transfer plan to stop Arsenal from signing Aaron Ramsey replacement

Serie A giants AC Milan are in the hunt for Red Bull Salzburg ace Dominik Szoboszlai and have an ace up their sleeve to win the race for the highly-rated midfielder.

A host of clubs across Europe are reportedly keen on the 19-year-old Hungary international, including Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

As revealed by Football.London, Arsenal have also registered their interest in the teenager as they seek a midfielder to fill the void left by Aaron Ramsey's departure to Juventus last summer.

Following Erling Haaland's move to Borussia Dortmund in January, Szoboszlai is the leading man in the Austrian side's pack but his services are set to attract plenty of attention in the summer transfer window.

However, while Arsenal will be hoping to lure the teenager to North London, Italian outlet Tuttosport states that AC Milan have an ace up their sleeve to win the battle for his signature.

Under the guidance of former Arsenal chief Ivan Gazidis, the Italian side are targeting exciting, young players to build a new-look side around at the San Siro.

A key figure in this plan is Ralf Rangnick, who is widely reported to be heading to Milan to take the managerial reigns, and his links with the Red Bull club could be decisive.

Formerly manager of RB Leipzig and a host of other Bundesliga sides, Rangnick's current role is head of sport and development at Red Bull GmbH - the parent company of Red Bull's host of football clubs.

That could give them an inside track to securing Szoboszlai's services as he will already have close ties with the teenager and his club.
