ITV has released a first look at the upcoming season of The Voice, which sees Kelly Rowland join as a coach.

The Destiny’s Child singer, 45, has replaced country singer LeAnn Rimes, who left the show after one season.

Rowland will now join Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and last year’s winning joint coaches, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones from McFly, in the coaching line-up.

Emma Willis – who will also host the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing – will also return to The Voice this season, with ITV teasing that she will be “steering the show through every emotional high note, electrifying performance, and dramatic chair turn”.

A new change is also being introduced this season – the Rewind button, which will give each coach one chance during the Blind Auditions to change their mind about an act who has left the stage without a single chair turn.

If a coach realises they have made a mistake, they can hit Rewind, bring the act back, and offer them a place on their team.

In June last year it was reported that Rimes had quit The Voice after one season, with ITV then confirming the news a month later when announcing Rowland had signed up.

At the time Rowland said: “I am excited to join The Voice UK as a coach and am looking forward to working with the excellent and passionate coaches the show is known for. I can’t wait to hear all the new talent and to go to battle for my team. Let’s go.”

Rowland began her career in the 1990s with US girl group Destiny’s Child, alongside Beyonce Knowles and Michelle Williams, the singer has also achieved two UK number one solo singles in Dilemma with rapper Nelly and When Love Takes Over with DJ David Guetta.

She has also had four hit albums in the UK, including a number one in 2003’s Simply Deep.

The singer previously appeared as a judge on the eighth season of The X Factor UK, where she was credited with putting British girl group Little Mix together, who went on to win the show in 2011.

She also previously coached on the Australian version of The Voice between 2017 and 2020.

The Voice UK is coming soon to ITV1, ITVX, STV and STV Player.
