ITV This Morning expert's clear warning to anybody who's ever ordered from ASOS

An expert on ITV's This Morning has issued a warning to anybody who shops, or has shopped on ASOS. The online retailer is used by countless shoppers every day, and many rely on it for buying outfits which they need delivered to their homes fast.

But sometimes, parcels can go AWOL, and shoppers are forced to ask for refunds. Consumer expert Alice Beer took calls from shoppers who had questions about missing parcels.

One This Morning caller phoned up upset that one of her ASOS parcels was nowhere to be seen. Alice dished out some simple yet effective advice.

The first request was from a caller named Carys, who was entitled to a £40 refund from ASOS. Carys had followed the required steps to return her parcel, but was "aggravated" when she didn't get her money back. However, Alice said the caller only logged the complaint with the courier - and said shoppers must inform the online retailer if they are still awaiting their refund.

Alice said: "When you're returning a parcel to a company, some online companies make it so easy because they will do the business with the courier company. They give you the label, they have the contract with the courier company and it's nothing to do with you. So you need to tell ASOS who your contract is with and you need to tell the company, 'Look, it's your courier and something has gone wrong, they've lost the parcel'."

Alice said she contacted ASOS - and the online retailer revealed it "did not know the parcel was missing" - and ensured Carys received her refund.

Holly Willoughby hosted today's episode alongside Phillip Schofield and she hailed the advice. She said: "Simple. Actually much easier than she thought." Alice added: "Don't climb the mountain when there's a straight road going to it."
